Here's a spot where we can discuss our health and our bodies. I know some of us are trying to get healthier by exercising or losing weight or breaking a habit. Let's see if we can help each other along that path.

Books and Movies

I thought it would be fun to have a post where we can talk about books and movies we like.
Who knows? We may share some books with each other or at least open our eyes to new ideas.

And what movies have you enjoyed? What movies were a waste of time and money?

Jackie didn't answer my e-mail yet, but she did post about this forum on her blog. I think this pretty much says it all and we will continue with this blog just as it is.

"... I want to thank Laurie for setting something up for during my expected absence. I'm not sure what I'll be doing here -- I was thinking a generic post the day before I go into the hospital so people could comment.

I'll figure out between now and then. I won't be going for surgery until May 14. (I'm hoping the Survivor finale is May 11 ... please!) I personally don't plan being in rehab any longer than I have to. I'm not a hospital, strangers prodding me kind of person. I know it's important for recovery and know that I will do fine. But I'd rather do fine at home!"

Why have another blog?

Whoo hoo! It's wonderful to see so many of you moving in. I love it.

I want to quietly address the issue of why I started this blog. There are questions about it on Jackie's blog and you can read about it in full there. This blog is not intended to be competition, but rather a part of Jackie's blog. It's meant to give us a neighborhood to talk about the other stuff in our lives and give Jackie a break while she heals. I understand why my motives were questioned and I just want everyone to know that my heart was in the right place.

I was thinking of listing everyone on the front page, just first names (or nicknames) and area where you live in real life. For instance, I'll say "Laurie - Southern California" ... Does that work for everyone? I know I am geographically challenged and forget who lives where.
